Terms of Service

Effective Date: October 26, 2026 · Platform: https://localdevtools.dev

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to LocalDevTools ("we," "our," "us," or the "Service"), operated at https://localdevtools.dev. By accessing, browsing, testing, or utilizing any of the web utilities, calculators, code formatters, converters, or developer tools available on this platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you must immediately discontinue using our website and utilities.

2. Description of Service & Free License

LocalDevTools provides an all-in-one suite of web-based developer utilities, media editors, unit converters, and mathematical calculators engineered for in-browser, client-side execution.

Subject to compliance with these Terms, LocalDevTools grants you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use our tools for:

  • Personal & Educational Purposes: Learning, experimentation, homework, and academic study.
  • Commercial & Professional Projects: Formatting proprietary code, testing API payloads, calculating financial amortization, optimizing production images, and building commercial software.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use LocalDevTools only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree that you will NOT:

  • Use the Service in any manner that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair our infrastructure or interfere with any other party's enjoyment of the Service.
  • Engage in aggressive automated scraping, bulk data harvesting, or automated bot requests that circumvent normal browser interaction or burden edge delivery networks.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract proprietary algorithms in a manner designed to duplicate or republish the platform as a competing automated service without permission.
  • Use our hashing, encryption, regex, or code generation tools to facilitate malicious activities, cyberattacks, malware distribution, or unauthorized access to computer systems.

4. Intellectual Property & User Ownership

A. Platform Intellectual Property

The LocalDevTools brand, trade name, logo, site architecture, user interface design, visual styling, curated documentation, educational articles, and client-side source code are the intellectual property of LocalDevTools and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and international intellectual property laws.

B. 100% User Data Ownership

You retain 100% ownership and copyright of any data you input into our tools. Because LocalDevTools processes calculations entirely within your client browser memory and never stores your input code, JSON, SQL, images, or files on any remote server, LocalDevTools claims zero intellectual property rights, licenses, or ownership over your formatted outputs, generated code, or converted files.

5. Critical Disclaimers of Warranties ("AS IS")

Important Notice Regarding Computational Precision:

All tools, calculators, code formatters, and converters on LocalDevTools are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, statutory, or implied.

  • Financial & Mathematical Calculators: Loan amortization, compound interest, and percentage tools are engineered for general educational and preliminary estimation purposes only. They do not account for institution-specific compounding rules, escrow variances, or jurisdictional tax laws. They do not constitute certified financial, tax, or investment advice. Always verify calculations with a qualified financial advisor.
  • Health & BMI Tools: The Body Mass Index (BMI) calculator is an epidemiological screening reference and does not substitute for clinical medical evaluation or personalized dietary guidance.
  • Code & Data Converters: While we rigorously test our JSON, SQL, minification, and cryptographic engines against IEEE and RFC specifications, users are strongly advised to test and validate compiled outputs in staging environments before deploying to critical production systems.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall LocalDevTools, its founders, contributors, or service providers be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, goodwill, data, business interruption, or other intangible losses arising out of or in connection with:

  • Your use or inability to access or use the Service;
  • Any errors, bugs, calculation inaccuracies, or typographical errors within any tool;
  • Any unauthorized alteration or interception of data occurring on your local device or network;
  • Any downtime, edge latency, or service interruptions.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LocalDevTools, its maintainers, and operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms of Service or your use of the platform's outputs.

8. Third-Party Services & Advertisements

LocalDevTools displays third-party advertisements delivered by Google AdSense and utilizes edge infrastructure provided by Cloudflare. We do not endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for any third-party products, services, advertisements, or websites linked from our pages. Any interactions with third-party vendors or advertisers are solely between you and the respective third party.

9. Modifications to the Service & Terms

We reserve the right to modify, update, enhance, or temporarily suspend any tool or utility on LocalDevTools at any time without prior notice. We may also revise these Terms of Service periodically. Your continued use of the platform following the posting of updated Terms constitutes your binding acceptance of such changes.
